Black Award Winner Doesn’t Thank God

Presenters Bedingfield and Kingston had no idea what Turner had planned
(LOS ANGELES) A shocked hush came over the audience Sunday at the American Music Awards when rapper Charles “C-Dogg” Turner didn’t thank God after winning Second Favorite Rap Artist.
After beating out rappers T.I. and Little Wayne, Turner, whose sophomore album My Niggaz F**k Bitches was recently renamed My African-American Brothers Have Sexual Intercourse With Women We Don’t Respect, stormed up to the stage and hugged presenters Natasha Bedingfield and Sean Kingston. He then held up his award–and thanked Barack Obama.
A palpable sense of disbelief washed through the NOKIA Theater, but Turner rambled on, never once invoking the Lord, Jesus, or anything that even rhymed with ‘Saint.’ After a moment, security moved in and ushered him off the stage.
“Fight the real enemy,” Turner yelled, echoing Sinead O’Connor’s words when she tore up a picture of Pope John Paul II on Saturday Night Live.
Everyone was pretty shaken up, and the show’s mood never recovered.
“One thing you can count on is blacks thanking God,” said Bedingfield, who was in tears after the show. “No one else ever does, not even the winners at the Christian Music Association Awards, so it’s a really singular moment. I felt sort of robbed.”

Charles ‘C Dog’ Turner has no reason to think God for his foul mouth ramblings! God is nowhere involve in this poor looser made famous by men and women who has forgotten what respect for others denotes.
It is appalling to watch this unhealthy specimen of a young man walk up to the microphone. TOTALLY shameful!

I love it Renee! Forget about the other great African-American leaders and thinkers who came before Obama. How ’bout a thanks to King, Evers, or even some musical pioneers?
I’m still chuckling. That was good, and so dang true at our shows where you hear a boat load of music about killing folk and sexin’, then they thank God at the end. Heh-heh.
